Abstract
The blog-aggregation tool Planet was a groundbreaking way to connect online communities when it debuted … in the era of personal blog sites with RSS feeds, and of readers who could be expected to run a feed-reading app. But neither the blogs nor the community fits into those molds today.
This BoF session aims to brainstorm what the modern equivalent of a “planet” service should look like, for an active and diverse community of users and projects like Libre Graphics. Come to share your input on how the social networks and online services that we utilize today could be aggregated in a way that’s useful and convenient for how we interact today. If there’s any new Planet out there to be discovered, then the search for it has to begin with a real-world community.
