Louis Montagne
Biography
Louis Montagne is a French entrepreneur and engineer with over 25 years of experience building at the intersection of technology, data, and digital strategy. Holding a graduate degree in Artificial Intelligence from Université Paris 6, he has been creating companies and shipping products since the early 2000s. A member of the Open Source movement in France, he co-founded Bearstech and led af83, a Franco-American digital agency for over 13 years across Paris and San Francisco. An active shaper of France’s tech ecosystem, he helped launch Silicon Sentier, La Cantine, and the Open World Forum. He founded Askem in 2020, where he now focuses on data platforms, AI, and territorial innovation — including DataBFC, a regional data management system for Bourgogne Franche-Comté, and AAASeed, an open-source 3D creation engine.
